If you wish to make the Commissioner aware of an issue, please go to our Contact Us page for further information on how to do so.

If your contact is a general comment, telling the Commissioner about something you are unhappy with or an issue you think the Commissioner ought to be aware of, we will aim to respond within ten working days.

If your query is one that requires us to do some research or investigation then you will receive an initial acknowledgement with a full response within twenty-eight working days.

COMPLAINTS

The Police and Crime Commissioner is not the appropriate authority for handling and investigating individual complaints against Dorset Police.  

Should such a matter be received by this office, it will be acknowledged and passed to the Professional Standards Department where it will be registered and dealt with in accordance with Force procedures.  Please consider the full advice contained within our Complaints Policy here.

The Police and Crime Commissioner’s Complaints Review Officer is responsible for undertaking all reviews for complaints where the appeal authority is the PCC. This process will be explained to you when you receive the outcome of your complaint.
