The Police and Crime Commissioner is looking to recruit volunteers to be involved in the scrutiny of the work of Dorset Police. This forms part of his role to hold the Chief Constable of Dorset Police to account.
If you live or work in Dorset and are interested in joining our team of Scrutiny Panel Volunteers, then please consider the Person Specification on the link below which highlights the skills we are looking for. You do not have to have any previous experience of policing to be able to undertake this role, nor do you need to have previous experience of scrutiny panels. We are especially keen to hear from applicants of all backgrounds and ethnic groups to ensure that our Scrutiny Panels truly represent the public Dorset Police serve.

The intention of Scrutiny Panels is to increase transparency around important matters, such as Use of Force, Complaints Handling, Out of Court Disposals and Customer Service, to help boost public confidence in the police and provide learning opportunities to officers and staff.
Panel members will be expected to attend an average of four meetings per year, alongside relevant training.
