The PCC was awarded the national transparency quality mark from CoPaCC, at a ceremony in London on Wednesday 28 October 2015.

This is the Commissioner’s third award from CoPaCC, an independent national body which monitors police governance by comparing Police and Crime Commissioners.

In total nine PCCs' Offices were presented with a new national Transparency Quality Mark.

The event was hosted by leading police auditors Grant Thornton and saw representatives from Dorset, Cambridgeshire, Cleveland, Gwent, Hertfordshire, Humberside, Norfolk, Surrey and West Mercia presented with their Transparency Quality Marks by CoPaCC Chief Executive Bernard Rix.

Also speaking at the event, and presenting the Quality Marks alongside Bernard Rix, was Lord Bew, Chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Life.

Dorset Police and Crime Commisisoner, Martyn Underhill said: “I am delighted that we have been granted a CoPaCC transparency quality mark. Since being in office, I have tried to be as open as possible, as I believe it is important for the public to be kept fully informed and involved in my work. Through the launch of our new website, I have had the opportunity to reach an even higher level of transparency. All web users can now find detailed information about projects, as well as funding commitments. Transparency and accountability is intrinsic to my work.”

CoPaCC Chief Executive, Bernard Rix said: "These nine PCCs' Offices have, in CoPaCC's 2015 national assessment, consistently demonstrated that they are transparent in what they do. They present key information in an accessible format on their websites. I congratulate them on their good work, and am very pleased to present each of them with the CoPaCC Transparency Quality Mark 2015."

Dorset PCC Martyn Underhill also holds the Gold CoPaCC 2014 Award for Engagement and was commended in the CoPaCC “PCCs and Innovation” Awards, September 2014.
