Our latest guest blog comes from Tom Lund, Head of Operations and Service Delivery at Citizens Advice Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole. He writes about the financial problems many people face as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis - and where they can go for help.
The Coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on our lives. More people are becoming increasingly worried about paying bills, potential redundancy, reduced working hours, keeping their home and what the long-term impact of the pandemic will have on their finances.
Whilst Government interventions have gone some way to support people during the crisis, many of us are worried about money. Previous research conducted by Citizens Advice estimates that six million UK adults have fallen behind on at least one household bill during the pandemic.
Falling incomes - higher costs
Falling incomes and higher living costs mean an increasing proportion of the people we help simply cannot afford to make ends meet. Many others are on the cusp of being unable to cover their costs.
With the extra costs associated with winter and the Christmas period approaching, many more people will find themselves struggling financially.
Advice for managing money is available, no matter your circumstances, and the message is to seek help early on if you are struggling with your bills or you think you will struggle over the coming months.

During the pandemic Citizens Advice have increased their capacity to help people with money worries and we have developed partnerships with other support services to ensure the right advice and support is available, at the right time.
