NEWS - Working together for justice

PCC David Sidwick promotes the work of the Dorset Criminal Justice Board.

The Dorset Criminal Justice Board (DCJB) brings together a variety of agencies with responsibility for delivering criminal justice services across our area.

The justice landscape is complex and multi-faceted, and no single agency is responsible for the system as a whole and so it is vital that partner agencies have a shared understanding and are unified in their ambition, to work together in the most efficient and effective way possible to focus on improving justice outcomes across the county.

The Board aims to provide an effective and fair criminal justice system that focuses on offering a high-quality service to victims and witnesses, protects the public, supports the rehabilitation of offenders and promotes public confidence.

Chair of the Board, Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset David Sidwick said: “It is important that the people of Dorset have trust and confidence that our justice system deals with crime while providing victims the support they need. Ensuring that our criminal justice system is fair and effective is not only vital for the successful functioning of the system but also for creating communities that feel safe.”
