Statement on the sentencing of Nasen Saadi
“My thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Amie Gray, and Leanne Miles.
“This shocking incident had a profound effect on our community, the impact of which is still being felt to this day.
“While this sentence cannot bring Amie back or eradicate the horrific trauma suffered by Leanne and felt by the loved ones of both women, I hope this sentence offers some comfort that justice has at least been served and the perpetrator will be behind bars for a very long time.
“This tragic senseless incident has highlighted the vital importance of ensuring our continuing partnership work to tackle Violence Against Women and Girls is robust, and I remain absolutely committed to working together to make the widespread changes needed to ensure women and girls in Dorset are protected.
“We must all be unwavering in our commitment to tackle Violence Against Women and Girls, and in Dorset we will be relentless, ensuring our communities are safe from those intent on inflicting serious violence and causing fear.
“Finally, my thanks go to the officers and staff at Dorset Police for their painstaking work in securing this verdict, and ensuring the person responsible was held fully accountable for their deplorable devastating actions.”
