Under 25?

Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner, David Sidwick has launched his Youth Participation strategy with a call out to all of Dorset’s under 25’s to share their opinion on crime and policing.

The National Children and Young Persons Policing Strategy has set the ambition for the UK to have “the most trusted and engaged policing service in the world working together to make communities safer and stronger”.

The aim of this strategy is to help ensure that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner along with Dorset Police, are developing strategies which are shaped by children and young people’s lived experience and so having the voice of children and young people at the heart of this work is essential.

The Police and Crime Commissioner commented “It’s time for Dorset’s younger generations to get involved, and have their voices not only heard, but reflected and acted upon. However, we can’t do it without you – so if you are under twenty-five and want us to hear what you have to say about policing here in Dorset, you can now go online and complete our consultation and get involved. For us, it’s not just about ticking boxes – we want to start real, long term engagement with our young people, and find out if there is an appetite for young people to get involved in the scrutiny of local policing, or maybe even take up one of our volunteering roles too”
