Safe at Home Project

£3000

In this pilot project Safe Partnership will be offering a home security scheme to victims of sexual violence in Dorset.

  • Priority 1
  • Priority 4

All victims regardless of gender, location in Dorset or tenure will have access to a fast high quality service with a qualified security installer attending each victim’s property as soon as possible to assess the property, install the necessary security measures and offer safety advice and guidance to the victim at the same appointment. Home security has been  proven to increase the safety of domestic abuse victims and reduce their risk of homelessness. however it is rarely used to support sexual violence victims, despite the fact that many such victims are assaulted by someone who is known to them, who knows where they live.Nearly a quarter of those referred to Dorset Sexual Abuse Referral Centre in 2015 were attached at home.
