Strouden Park Community Centre
The Strouden Park Community Centre operates in Bournemouth
- Priority 1
- priority 2
The project is to provide a safe environment for groups and volunteers to participate in activities within the community centre.
They requested the funding to purchase a new cctv system and additional cameras. as they suffer from anti-social behaviour issues, this includes children and young people gathering at the front of the building, accessing the building when they are not using the facilities, offensive language and threats of violence towards volunteers, football played against the windows, criminal damage to the garden.
The current CCTV system was installed with the building 5 years ago and is not working anymore, volunteers and centre users did feel safer when the system was working. The current system only has two cameras, so the new system will be extended to allow more cameras, which will cover the outside boundary of the centre. With having the additional cameras, it will cover the area where young people tend to congregate and the volunteers who lock up the centre in the evening will have the added security to check the external boundary of the centre and feel safer.
