Council Tax 2017/18

Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Martyn Underhill, has set the annual policing budget for 2017/18 including raising the Policing element of the Council Tax by 1.98%.

Following a formal request from the Chief Constable, strong levels of public endorsement and the unanimous support received from the Police and Crime Panel, the PCC has decided to raise the Policing Precept for the year. This will ensure that Dorset Police is adequately resourced to meet the needs of residents across the county.

The PCC has a statutory obligation to set the police budget and precept. To see the proposal as set out to the Dorset Police and Crime Panel and minutes from this public meeting, please click here to be taken to their website.
