Regional Special Constabulary and Police Support Volunteer Awards

The South West Region Special Constabulary and Police Support Volunteer awards brings together nominees and representatives from the Police Forces of Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, British Transport Police and showcases the range of hard work carried out by Volunteers.

Regional Special Constabulary and Police Support Volunteer Awards

This annual event is a means of recognising and celebrating the work done by teams and individuals across the wider area of volunteering within the police service.

  • The Arthur Ellis Memorial Trophy (Special Constabulary Team Award)
  • Special Constable of the Year Award
  • Police Support Volunteer Team Award
  • Police Support Volunteer of the Year Award

Candidates for the awards are nominated by regular officers or police staff colleagues before being shortlisted to face strong competition from the nominees from the other forces.  A regional panel including a Chief Officer, a Special Constabulary Chief Officer and a representative of a Police & Crime Commissioner, consider the evidence that was put forward with the nomination, taking into account the impact of the individual’s support work and their positive contribution to policing.
